Courts Unlikely to Restrain Trump

Trump campaigned against the courts that were indicting him before he was elected. He has zero respect for courts, although he used them repeatedly to protect himself when he was in the real estate business.

Wikipedia has an entry entitled “Personal and business legal affairs of Donald Trump” It says:

From 1973 until he was elected president in 2016, Donald Trump and his businesses were involved in over 4,000 legal cases in United States federal and state courts, including battles with casino patrons, million-dollar real estate lawsuits, personal defamation lawsuits, and over 100 business tax disputes.[1] He has also been accused of sexual harassment and sexual assault,[2][3] with one accusation resulting in him being held civilly liable.[4] One case involved a 13 year old child.

It reminds us that one of Trump’s early lawyeers was Roy Cohn, who also represented Senator Joe McCarthy’s campaign to brand many government officials, falsely, as Communists.

Trump has become even more suspicious of courts after being impeached and accoused of improper use of classified materials and failing to act as President to stop insurrection against the US on January 6. Therefor I think it is unlikely that courts will serious;y impede Trump’s actions to make changes to the US government. He will appeal decisions against him, or likey just ignore them.
